How to Replace Your INMOTION V11 Tire: Step-by-Step Guide
What You Need
Replacing the tire on your INMOTION V11 is one of the most common maintenance tasks for electric unicycle owners. Whether you have a flat or your tread is worn, this guide walks you through the complete process.
Required Parts
- V11 Outer Tire — 18x3.0 inch tire (available at our V11 Parts page)
- V11 Inner Tube — matching size inner tube
Tools Needed
- Tire levers (2-3 recommended)
- Allen key set (4mm, 5mm)
- Tire pump with pressure gauge
Step 1: Remove the Shell Panels
Power off your V11 completely and lay it on its side on a clean, soft surface. Remove the side shell panels by unscrewing the Allen bolts.
Step 2: Disconnect the Motor Cable
Carefully disconnect the motor cable connector. Take a photo before disconnecting so you remember the routing.
Step 3: Remove the Axle
Using the appropriate Allen key, loosen the axle bolts on both sides. Support the motor assembly as you remove the axle — the V11 motor weighs approximately 15 lbs.
Step 4: Remove the Old Tire
Deflate the inner tube completely. Use tire levers to pry one bead of the tire over the rim. Remove the inner tube, then the tire.
Step 5: Install the New Tire
Place one bead of the new tire on the rim. Insert the new inner tube (slightly inflated to prevent pinching). Work the second bead onto the rim.
Step 6: Reassemble
Inflate to 35-40 PSI. Reverse the disassembly steps: reinstall axle, reconnect motor cable, and replace shell panels.
