Grading Guide
Every refurbished device at InMotion Service Centre goes through the same inspection and QC process before it is listed for sale.
Every device passes ride-critical functional testing before it is graded. Grades reflect cosmetic condition; Grade C may additionally have broken non-critical parts (e.g. handle, headlight, or speaker), which are noted and sold as-is.
Our Multi-Step QC Process
Before a device is sold, it moves through intake, technical verification, and final certification. The cosmetic grade is assigned after QC passes.
Intake & Visual Inspection
Each device is checked for frame damage, missing parts, visible wear, and general completeness before it moves deeper into QC.
Functional Testing
We verify the core ride systems including electronics, motor response, charging behavior, controls, and safety-critical functionality.
Certification & Grading
Only after a device passes QC do we assign its cosmetic grade and list it as warranty-backed refurbished inventory.
Choose the cosmetic grade that fits your budget
All three grades are refurbished and pass ride-critical testing. The difference is how much cosmetic wear you are willing to accept — and, on Grade C, whether a non-critical part may need replacing.
Light Wear
Highest cosmetic tier
What to expect: Light cosmetic wear such as minor scratches or scuffs from normal use. The device looks great and is fully functional.

Buyers who want the cleanest cosmetic condition alongside full certification and warranty coverage.
Moderate Wear
Best balance of value and appearance
What to expect: Moderate cosmetic wear such as visible scratches, scuffs, dents, or fading consistent with regular use. Performance remains fully functional and tested.

Commuters and everyday riders who want strong value and do not need top-tier cosmetics.
Heavy Wear
Lowest tier — pickup only
What to expect: Heavy cosmetic wear such as deep scratches, dents, or a faded finish. May also have broken non-functional components such as the handle, headlight, or speaker.
- Ride-critical systems (motor, brakes, battery) tested and confirmed working
- Broken non-critical parts are noted at sale, sold as-is, and not covered by warranty
- Pickup-only at our Westminster, CA warehouse — not shipped; sales final upon pickup and inspection
Budget-conscious riders, learners, or riders who care more about function than finish and are comfortable with a unit that may need a non-critical part replaced.
